James Felix Haig was born the son of James Matthew Haig and grandson of James Felix Haig founder of J.F.Haig & Co.Ltd. of Bedford Street, Belfast. They were manufacturers of shirts, shirt collars and ladies blouses. James Felix Snr. of Holywood, Co.Down. N.Ireland  born 15th. April 1838 had previously served as an Officer in the 90th. Light Infantry and as a subaltern and an ensign in Lord Wolsleys Company was present at the relief of Lucknow under the leadership of Sir.Colin Campbell. It is to be noted that in the memoirs of Lord Wolsley it is stated thet J.F. Haig Snr. performed such an act of bravery that he should have been awarded the Victoria Cross.

James Felix and Margaretta were married 6th. January 1873 Margaretta was the daughter of Matthew Browne Esq. of Caldrcleveen, Co.Kerry. Ireland

James Felix Snr. died 31st. March 1905 - In his will the beneficiaries were Jmaes Matthew Haig and Caroline Mary Haig a spinster
