15th. January 1914 Donaghadee - Postman Robert Dunn awarded the Imperial Service Medal for long and meritorious service
11th. February 1914 Donaghadee lifeboat crew respond to a summons to go to the relief of a vessel in Red Bay Co. Antrim. arrived after an arduous and long journey, the captain of the vessel decided not to accept their help.
16th. February 1914 Donaghadee post office - William Kennedy appointed senior postman in succession to Robert Dunn, who retired owing to ill health.
15th. March 1914 Donaghadee - Residence of Rev. H. McConnell Methodist Minister burgled. A number of valuable articles were taken away, including a gold watch and some money.

15.8.1914 T. Dowling wins "Roberts" medal in contest promoted by the Donaghadee Miniture Rifle Club.
24.8.1914 Three ladies and a gentleman in motoring from Donaghadee were challenged by a sentry on duty at Orlock.
Not realising that the challenge was directed at them the party proceeded on. the sentry fired and wounded one of the occupants a Miss McGeown of Belfast, She succumbed to her injuries on the 26th. 15.11.1914 Three-masted barque Inverrurie, 1,417 tons, of Aberdeen, goes ashore at Barkley's Point, Ballyferris, Between Ballywalter and Donaghadee and becomes a total wreck. She was bound for Sydney with a cargo mainly of rock salt.
