"Malkie" returned from India, c1934 - apparently he had become "as changeable as the wind".... anyway during an event involving the transfer of his trophies from on home on Upper Movilla Street to another The Whiskey Haw one of said trophies vanished, this caused consternation and much debate among family members as to where it was or better still who had nabbed it... only later was the culprit to come to light when a police constable on his rounds during the taking of a census witnessed a minor disturbance involving said trophy,... a large cup ... and a quart of buttermilk which was used by one sister to douse another,.. the constable was wise enough not to get involved but did assist in solving the mystery. But alas Malkie after an interesting life finally passed away here in Newtownards in 1983. - Info sent in by Pattie Spice

Hi Derek,. I have got the wedding photo from Sheilagh. Not sure if you have the names so here they are. L to r
Mrs Moore, Mr Moore, Nan Gunning (later married Joe Lindsay who was a teacher in the Model School), ?, Jack Moore, Betty Moore (nee Carnduff), Sam Carnduff, Mrs Carnduff, Billy Carnduff.
The Carnduffs  lived in Mill Street. Betty and Jack Moore owned the Central Cafe and the Central Cake shop both in Conway Square and the baking was done in a bakery behind Mrs Carnduff's house in Mill Street.  Betty and Jack also owned the Regency Gift house in Regent Street. ..   Patricia Osborne
From Facebook
Margaret Graham Betty Carnduff had a bakery in the Square.
Margaret Graham The bakery was beside Mawhinnys butchers. The bride in the picture is Betty as far as I know. Think they lived about John Street. Then in the bungalow with the blue tile roof on the old Scrabo Road.
Marian Gazzard Remember my dad saying Betty and her husband Jack owned the Regency Gift shop.
Blakely McNally Betty and her brother Sam and rest of family lived in Mill St. Bakery at back of house. This is Jackie and Betty on their big day.
