Wilson, Captain Archibald - Tuesday 26th. June 1798 - Was hanged at Newtownards for the space of 80 minutes after which time he was taken down and his head was cut off by one of the Lancashire Light Dragoons. The head was left sticking up on the point of one of their inverted Pikes on that spot.

Davy Wilson a pig breeder of 54 Mill Street next to
the Gasworks.
Davy also owned 56,58 and 60. He had a "meal" run around the farms on the
penninsula. His pigs were some of the happiest in Ulster as their stye was up against the
hot coke from the Gasworks. Also in shot is his daughter May later to become Mrs. May
Caughers.
