1912 - Another Month for Cully Bell
Dist. Insp. Murnane applied at court that the distress warrant of £5 against
William "Cully" Bell of Greenwell Street in respect of recogninances entered
into and failed to fulfill should be changed to a committal warrant. Sgt. Smith deposed
that he had received a distress warrant to levy £5 in respect of William
"Cully" Bell. He had made inquiries and found no goods to meet it. He had
accordingly returned the warrant duly certified. The Chairman said that the warrant would
be changed to a committal order for one month imprisonment without hard labour.
